10/5/06 New Bankruptcy Law Not As Bad As Had Been Predicted According to Money/CNN, the new bankruptcy law has not had quite the catastrophic effects on consumers that advocacy groups had predicted it would have. While the cost of a bankruptcy has doubled, people are not being forced to repay a higher percentage of money to credit card companies.
9/10/06 Seniors Are Carrying More Credit Card Debt Than Ever According to the New York Daily News, credit card debt amongst those ages 65-69 has doubled in the years from 1991 to 2001, to $6,000 per person on average.
